Engineering Lead - Structural & Electrical Permanent Theale/ Hybrid - 2-3 days per month onsite About the Role Responsible for managing the Engineering Team and accountable for the production, execution, and delivery of the engineering manual. Setting the strategic engineering approach to delivering the objectives set by the Head of Design & Engineering. Act as the Lead Engineering Authority to guide and mentor the engineering managers and SMEs and provide expert advice to the Head of Design & Engineering in all matters related to Engineering. Provide guidance and enable the implementation of the Engineering strategy and objectives set by the Head of Design & Engineering. Provide regular project, risk, and activity reporting to the Head of Design & Engineering. Work closely with the wider Design & Engineering team, specifically design delivery manager and build governance manager, to ensure alignment with new engineering initiatives or changes to engineering specifications. Key Responsibilities Responsible for managing the engineering team project/task allocation, performance management, development, budget, and performance reporting. Defines and executes current and future engineering strategies set by the Head of Design and Engineering for meeting all engineering requirements in line with customer demand and regulatory legislation. Accountable for future development projects for new product/solutions to meet Company and customer needs. Accountable for ensuring compliance of all infrastructure deployed on the estate, with a mindset of sustainability, carbon footprint, and value engineering. Manage the production, maintenance, and communication of the engineering manual. Ensuring all stakeholders, including customers, partners, and delivery teams are engaged and aware of all changes to standards. Lead coordination of SME support to H&S investigations for the HSQE team. Manage, review, and report on the status of engineering concessions. Ensuring the team is reviewing and responding within the agreed SLAs. Accountable for the creation and ongoing management of all Engineering team processes. Plan, scope, budget, and define objectives with senior stakeholders for all engineering-related projects. Manage the SME authority function for the identification, development, implementation, and approval of Engineering solutions, including installation, maintenance, and H&S investigations. To enable the design partner to deliver projects on time and to the customer's needs. Accountable for the engineering guidelines, which form part of the design manual. Ensuring compliance with current .GOV, HSE, and BS / EN / standards. Manage the technical input to H&S issues related to engineering for near misses/incident investigations for engineering and other cross-party issues, create reports and trends. Take action to ensure engineering remedies for incidents are well documented, communicated, and acted upon. Drive a safety mindset through good design and working closely with our supply chain and clients to improve safety standards. Review and report on the performance of suppliers in regards to engineering quality and value engineering. Provide regular reporting data into the SCM scorecard and provide data to support the review of Principal Designers. Review and report on the performance of the partners in terms of quality and value engineering. Review and manage the relationship and performance of the various manufacturers that provide products deployed on the estate. Skills and Knowledge In-depth experience working in design and build environments, working with suppliers and senior stakeholder management. Excellent project management and people skills with a proven track record of project delivery and team management. Superior experience working in site design/telecoms design in the UK. Previous experience working in supplier/manufacturer design. A Level English, Math, Science, Bachelor (Honours) Degree in Engineering and related qualification in either Structural or Civil Engineering.
