£65,000 - £70,000 per annum Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead and oversee the engineering function within our food and beverage manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of plant equipment, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. This is a key leadership role that combines technical expertise, team management, and strategic planning to support the overall success of the business. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Team Management:

Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence. Manage team performance through clear KPIs, regular reviews, and professional development opportunities. Ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments.

Plant and Equipment Maintenance:

Develop and implement robust preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency. Ensure all equipment operates at optimal performance levels to meet production targets. Oversee quick and effective troubleshooting and resolution of equipment failures.

Capital Projects and Continuous Improvement:

Plan, manage, and execute capital investment projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to required standards. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support innovation and the introduction of new products or technologies.

Compliance and Standards:

Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as industry standards. Maintain thorough documentation and records in line with regulatory and company requirements. Lead audits and inspections, addressing any findings promptly and effectively.

Budget and Resource Management:

Develop and manage the engineering budget, including cost control and resource allocation. Evaluate and procure new equipment, tools, and spare parts as needed, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality. Negotiate and manage contracts with external suppliers and contractors.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Act as a key point of contact for engineering-related matters within the business. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including production, quality, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. Provide technical expertise and support to other departments as required.

Qualifications and Experience: Proven experience in a senior engineering role within the food and beverage or food manufacturing industry. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. In-depth knowledge of maintenance strategies, equipment reliability, and process improvement techniques. Experience managing capital projects and budgets. Proficiency in using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
