Account Manager Job Purpose: We are seeking an experienced
Engineering Manager
to oversee all operational matters related to the effective maintenance of plants and equipment at a key healthcare and life sciences facility. The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational standards while maintaining effective client and stakeholder relationships. This is a pivotal role requiring leadership, technical expertise, and a strong focus on health and safety compliance to support the smooth functioning of critical operations. Key Responsibilities
Team Management and Leadership Plan, allocate, and oversee tasks for the engineering team, including preventative and responsive maintenance. Monitor and assess the quality of completed work, ensuring high standards are maintained. Manage team productivity and implement Personal Development Plans (PDPs) with relevant training schedules. Act as a mentor to the team, ensuring knowledge sharing and development. Operational Oversight Carry out the duties of an Authorised Person (AP) for HV-LV Electrical systems, confined spaces, and other relevant systems after appointment. Act as Technical Operations Manager in the absence of the Account Manager. Develop and review site policies and procedures for plant and equipment maintenance in collaboration with senior technical management. Conduct assessments of contractor competencies and provide guidance on contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS). Health and Safety Compliance Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety legislative requirements. Work with the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager to implement and maintain best practices. Document and communicate all health and safety procedures to team members and subcontractors. Client and Stakeholder Engagement Act as the primary point of contact for client and stakeholder liaison during complex or emergency operations. Provide expert advice on resolving technical matters related to installed plant and equipment. Support the client in achieving the highest standards of maintenance. Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications and Skills Apprentice-trained engineer with recognized technical qualifications in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering. A minimum of 5 years of experience managing M&E works and engineering teams. Working knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS), Fire Alarm Systems, and General Building Services, including electrical systems, AC, boilers, water systems, chillers, generators, and UPS. Strong understanding of health and safety standards, ideally with an IOSH qualification or equivalent. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage, mentor, and develop a team. Key Attributes Demonstrates a proactive approach to safety procedures and practices. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle technical challenges effectively. Exceptional communication skills for liaising with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
