Job title: Hardware Engineering Manager Location: Crawley, UK (Hybrid) Security Clearance: SC clearance required/must be able to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance. About the role You will deliver and oversee a wide range of land, sea and air based, defence related products, using bespoke hardware solutions for Customers or reusable solutions for Product Lines involving the latest industry class development tools for FPGAs (Field-Programmable Gate Arrays) and SoC (System-on-Chip) technologies. What you’ll be doing: Identify required skills, allocating responsibilities to the various individual contributors or contractors, and leading these contributors as a team. Scheduling, coordination and monitoring the implementation of tasks against the plan. Management of advanced studies dealing with new functions as well as emerging technologies. Oversee tasks focused on preparing, defining, specifying, tooling, and performing IVVQ activities. Decomposition and interpretation of system requirements & algorithms. Electronic design, Hardware Verification and Hardware Integration. You will have the following experience: Hardware System Engineering background is essential. Previous technical leadership of teams/projects. Understanding of Engineering Development lifecycles. Digital electronic design and implementation of complex designs. Electro-mechanical design including Power switching & control, Cabling and enclosure wiring. A working knowledge of Microprocessors, programmable devices, DSP, FPGA, memory.
