The Preply Engineering Team provides the tools to help unlock human potential through learning. We work primarily with Python/Django to build scalable and robust applications. We implement A/B tests to prove the value of our initiatives and improve our product based on data and students and tutors feedback. As part of our commitment to ensuring high-quality products, we prioritize monitoring and metrics analysis to identify areas for optimization and ensure our services are performing at their best. At Preply, we release our product 50-60 times per day by leveraging top-notch CI/CD processes. Classroom

is our video platform that enables seamless live learning experiences for tutors and students, supporting over 2 million live classes every month.

Chat

serves as a reliable communication tool that connects tutors and students throughout their learning journey, facilitating interactions for over 1 million monthly active users. This is a unique opportunity to manage a high-impact team that drives engagement, enhances user experiences, and supports our core mission of unlocking human potential through learning. What you’ll be doing:

Lead, coach and grow a team of diverse and talented engineers, always looking for opportunities to improve performance and results. Set the vision for the team and create and nurture a culture of high performance. Identify high-ROI projects, aligning and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver on these projects. Elevate the stability and capabilities of Classroom and Chat to ensure an effective and uninterrupted learning experience. Drive a culture of innovation, fostering the adoption of AI tools and seeking opportunities to integrate Preply’s AI products with the Classroom. Collaborate with stakeholders across the company such as Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Design. What you need to succeed:

Background:

Degree in computer science, data science, mathematics or a related field. Experience:

3-5+ years in building, leading, and scaling development teams. People-Centric Approach:

Passion for building strong, result-oriented teams. Technical Expertise:

Driving engineering best practices and understanding of WebRTC protocol. Results-Oriented:
