The Engineering Manager creates value for TAG through developing mature ‘offline’ products essential to TAG’s capabilities, whilst developing new e-commerce and digital products to enhance TAG’s customer offering and experiences. This position is responsible for driving the strategic direction, execution, and operational excellence of the engineering team to lead the development and delivery of innovative, scalable and reliable solutions that align with TAG’s goals. This role has responsibility for ensuring all TAG business applications, built internally or by third parties, are fit for purpose, well architected, engineered and supported. Here are just some of the things you’ll be getting involved with: Define the engineering vision, strategy and roadmaps in a cost effective manner in alignment with business objectives Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of innovation including AI Foster a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence and agile practices Ensure the architecture, design, testing and implementation of software systems meet high standards of quality, scalability and security Drive standardization, reusability and adoption of best practices across engineering teams Act as a key technical advisor to senior stakeholders and contribute to strategic decision-making Ensure engineering practices comply with relevant regulations, quality standards (e.g. ISO27001) and organizational policies Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with software systems and processes Play a material role in TAG passing PCI audit, annual finance audit and any other standard TAG adopts Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the software engineering function to ensure high-quality delivery and reliability Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints Implement robust processes for incident management, quality assurance and deployment Lead, mentor and grow a high-performing team of engineers, designers and testers Develop career growth plans and foster a supportive environment for skill development and innovation Collaborate with IT operational, product, project and support teams and other business wide departments to ensure alignment and delivery of customer-focused solutions Build strong partnerships with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements Ensure IP and TAG value is protected and that no third party IP is infringed Responsible for ensuring no product licenses impact TAGs future enterprise value Responsible for the annual budget in capex and opex costs relating to development and operation of the business applications Keeps records to support Capex records to be evidenced in finance audit process and R&D related records to support R&D tax reclaims All software developed for TAG is managed in an appropriate source control system, with a good change management and versioning process in place; these repositories are kept secure and backed up Ensure appropriate controls are in place, so that all changes to live systems are tracked Ensure automated tests, unit tests and tools are in place as appropriate Manage releases into production systems, coordinating with the Head of Infrastructure Operate an application support function in UK office hours, and an on-call out of hours function for P1/P2 application related incidents Representing the IT function at a senior level Heading up incident responses as part of a rota Assisting IT support and Infrastructure teams with network and hardware capacity plans and refresh schedules Developing policies relevant application development The How

As the Engineering Manager, there are several credentials and attributes which would be advantageous but a determined attitude and willingness to learn are equally important. Education to degree level or higher In lieu of education – equivalent combination of education and directly related experience Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas in order to achieve a common business objective Experience within a tech-enabled business, which both buys and builds business applications Extensive experience in managing a software development function Travel industry technology experience, including knowledge of airline booking tools, Travelport or other GDS systems Experience managing teams to develop products for the touring and entertainment industry Architecture experience, with complex systems, combining COTS products with custom built applications for good business results Development methodologies, covering both Agile and traditional waterfall Experience in businesses utilizing the following technologies

Filemaker C# Azure, APIM, AI Search, Functions, Azure AD, Storage Services, Azure Bus and Cosmos DB VueJS (V3), along with Tailwind, PrimeUI, Axios and MSAL frameworks Rest based APIs SAP BO, SAC and Tableau MS SQL DB systems Unit testing and development pipelines

The Where and When

This is a full-time role based in one of our UK offices. Since March 2020, we have operated a flexible, hybrid approach to working and will continue to do this moving forward. We will work with you to find the best mix of office and home working that suits your life and the needs of the team. You will report into the Chief Technology Officer who is based in Manchester. There are other regional teams based in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and South Africa that you may work closely with, too. The Important Bit
