Engineering Manager – Mechanical Services & Asset Care

to join the Infrastructure Design Authority (IDA). At Raynesway in Derby and supporting satellite sites, we are undertaking a significant redevelopment and expansion to provide new buildings and infrastructure in support of propulsion systems for submarines in the Royal Navy and Australia. In this role you will provide technical oversight from concept to detailed design as well as supporting and maintaining our legacy buildings and infrastructure across the submarines estate. Responsibilities: Provide the necessary standards and Statement of Requirements to the relevant Design Authorities regarding Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Building Services Engineering, including modifications for Infrastructure. Develop and implement asset management strategies and plans in line with ISO 55001 requirements. Monitor asset performance and lifecycle costs, providing recommendations for improvements and cost savings on a monthly and annual basis or other times as appropriate. Lead and mentor a small team of Mechanical Engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Prepare and present reports on asset performance, risks, and opportunities to senior management including ownership and close out of same. Assure Rolls-Royce, Client and Regulatory requirements have been appropriately incorporated into the design and modification of new and existing facilities and associated infrastructure. Define, approve, implement and maintain Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Building Services standards covering installation, operation and maintenance, which meet the legislative and corporate Rolls-Royce requirements. Progress asset management initiatives directly and delegate to wider team as appropriate. Who we’re looking for: Degree qualified Chartered Engineer holding registration with an appropriate professional body e.g., Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). Very strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders. An understanding of the design, construction/installation and commissioning of nuclear and conventional HVAC and Building Services and infrastructure within the UK. Familiarisation with latest related Euro Codes, British Standards, Codes of Practice and Guidance Documents. Experience of managing Infrastructure Assets across a complex site.
