Engineering Manager Are you a dynamic and experienced engineering professional looking for a next challenge? We are seeking a skilled Engineering Manager for a full-time permanent position with our esteemed client. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in driving operational excellence and fostering a culture of innovation within a busy production environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead and motivate the engineering team, ensuring they are supported and collaborate effectively to meet engineering KPIs that align with overall business goals. Assist in the recruitment, retention, and development of staff to ensure the engineering team is well-resourced at all times. Prioritise and manage engineering workloads and activities, delegating tasks efficiently to team members. Maintain all plant, equipment, and systems in compliance with relevant legislation and safety standards. Identify and resolve any performance or safety issues with plant or equipment promptly. Develop and implement a cost-effective engineering stores system. Champion industry best practices and promote the introduction of innovative technologies as appropriate. Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, company policies, and health and safety regulations. Promote Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain high standards of housekeeping. Actively contribute to waste reduction and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure all completed work meets safety and hygiene standards in line with FSA and health and safety legislation. Pursue personal development through training and work-based experiences. Undertake additional duties as required that fall within the scope of the role. Develop and implement preventive maintenance systems and inspections. Conduct Health and Safety risk assessments for engineering activities in partnership with the Health and Safety Officer. Participate as a member of the site's Food Safety, HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP team. Ensure all machinery operates at optimum performance with minimal disruption to production. Assume responsibility for health and safety compliance. Maintain a flexible approach to working hours, including on-call duties for after-hours issues. Qualifications and Experience: Strong communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork. Relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Extensive practical experience in mechanical and electrical engineering. 16th / 17th Edition certification. Excellent listening, negotiation, and influencing abilities, along with strong presentation skills. Outstanding organisational and project management capabilities. Proficient analytical skills to interpret data for effective strategy development. Highly proactive and organised with excellent time management. Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet time-sensitive projects. Food hygiene certification - desired.
