It is the responsibility of the Engineering Manager to ensure that the day-to-day administration is effectively completed along with other assigned responsibilities detailed below. Main responsibilities include: Effectively manage the engineering team Be an escalation point for technical queries & customer faults / call outs (NWH & OOH) Research, test and develop new and existing products & services Ensure continuous product & technical training to the whole team Manage all on site & HQ activities Analyse and improve processes within the engineering department Ensuring the maintenance and health and safety impact of Company premises meet and improve on the required Company standard Leadership (duty of care) of engineers onsite staff, including external contractors Site responsible person for HEALTH AND SAFETY and ensuring that facilities and premises meet statutory requirements Manage all aspects of staff management, including: Recruitment On-boarding Performance management and reviews Development Skills gap analysis Technical competencies ER matters (relating to sickness, absences, etc) Working hours Holidays Follow policies and procedures Guiding/Coaching/Mentoring engineers and apprentices Ensuring activities comply with legal and company standards, e.g., Working Time Directive Produce daily, weekly, and period-end reports as required Effectively manage the engineering budget Oversee the management of projects Complete project analysis Assist with the planning and co-ordinate of team resources Work as a key member of the management team Review engineering documentation to ensure complete compliance (RAMS, accreditations etc.) Attend site to install, commission, maintain & fault find UPS systems and their associated equipment What we will require from you: A willingness to learn Have energy and drive Work well within a team as well as on your own initiative A flexible “can do” attitude We will provide management training, however, relevant electrical qualifications and proven experience of installation, commissioning, servicing and repair of UPS and battery systems is necessary.
