We are recruiting an Engineering Manager with a strong background in commercial, industrial, and residential structural designs and surveys. The Role: Manage the workflow within the office ensuring that all projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. Quality assurance checking of all projects to ensure that they are technically correct and compliant with all latest design codes, standards, and guidelines. Responding to and resolving queries from site in a timely manner. Undertaking site visits to assess projects and determine load arrangements onto various structural elements. Provide advice to clients in respect of construction and refurbishment projects by actively promoting the company on a fee-paying basis. Liaise and build rapport with clients, contractors, and project architects. Undertake structural surveys and site inspections. Prepare detailed structural calculations, survey, and dilapidation reports. Prepare detailed sketches, layouts, and drawings for the required structural works. Carry out risk assessments for new schemes, improvement works, and refurbishments. Respond to emergency requests for action or advice regarding dangerous buildings, subsidence, or ground collapse incidents. Carry out other duties appropriate to the level of experience and grade of the post. The Engineering Manager: Understanding of all the technical elements of structural engineering. Knowledge of Tekla Tedds, Tekla Structural Designer, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Bentley Systems STAAD software would be desirable. Be degree qualified, to a minimum level of B.Eng. Have professional membership of the Institute of Structural Engineers and/or Institute of Civil Engineers. Have an understanding of the Highways Approval in Principle (AIP) process. Have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of all relevant British Standards and European design codes. CDM and H&S regulations knowledge and experience. Have an ability to work to tight deadlines whilst also showing an ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Have a clean driving licence. Package: The role offers a competitive salary of £50,000 to £60,000, plus a benefits package including pension, car mileage allowance, private healthcare, well-being allowance, and discretionary bonuses.
