What You'll Do
Strategic Leadership
Pioneer automation excellence by managing all aspects of our fully automated distribution centre
Develop and execute long-term engineering strategies alongside the wider automation management team
Build and maintain high-performance engineering teams through effective recruitment, development, and retention
Drive continuous improvement through innovative solutions and process optimisation
Technical Excellence
Oversee complex automated systems including AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robotics) technology
Manage sophisticated software systems, server architecture, and networks
Implement best-in-class maintenance strategies to maximise operational efficiency
Lead preventative maintenance operations while minimising equipment downtime
Ensure critical spares availability and maintain effective parts management
Stakeholder Management
Build strong partnerships with depot teams, property teams, and senior technology stakeholders
Manage vendor and contractor relationships to ensure exceptional service delivery
Collaborate with peers to identify investment opportunities and implement improvements
Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance facility performance
What You'll Bring
Essential Experience
Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
Proven track record in managing automated distribution or manufacturing facilities
Experience with AMR and advanced automation systems
Strong background in leading large, multi-skilled engineering teams
Demonstrated success in strategic planning and implementation
Technical Skills
Deep understanding of automation software systems and network architecture
Expertise in maintenance planning and optimisation
Proficiency with EAM systems and Office 365
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Leadership Qualities
Outstanding team leadership and development skills
Excellent stakeholder management abilities
Strong commercial acumen and budget management experience
Proven track record in driving operational excellence
