Due to expansion, we have a brand new role for an Engineering Project Manager at Rapiscan Systems. Are you ready to take your career to the next level? In this exciting position, you'll be at the forefront of groundbreaking technology, managing programs and projects within our Cargo and Vehicle Inspection division. You'll oversee new product development programs/projects across all functional disciplines, ensuring the engineering delivery required for revenue projects. You'll liaise with revenue project managers to ensure timely release of engineering technical specifications and BoM. Responsibilities: Manage early TRL deliverables for internal R&D and externally funded contractual R&D projects. Liaise with technical authorities and other engineering project managers to ensure alignment with technical requirements and customer deliverable documentation. Interface with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies throughout the project duration. Lead new product development projects from initial concept through development, prototype build, verification & validation, and product launch. Create and maintain project schedules based on project scope, working with cross-functional teams to establish achievable plans. Facilitate regular project meetings to drive progression and manage the critical path. Monitor and control project scope, documenting changes and understanding impacts on timescale, budget, and quality. Manage risks and issues, applying mitigations and resolutions, and escalating when necessary. Organize key stage reviews with senior management to ensure project direction. Drive project decision-making with appropriate cost-benefit analysis. Ensure adherence to the new product development process and release all documentation accordingly. Conduct project lessons learned and identify opportunities for process improvement. Utilize and maintain project management tools, methods, and templates for consistency. Provide weekly reporting and monthly project status updates. Support continuous improvement of engineering standards, design processes, operational performance, and business sustainability. Candidate Requirements: Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to articulate to both internal engineers and external suppliers at all levels. Engineering background in mechanical, electrical, electronic, and/or software. Knowledge of X-ray systems is an advantage. Proven track record of managing engineering projects, ideally across engineering disciplines. Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering. PMP or similar PM professional qualification or PRINCE2 qualified. Demonstrable experience in managing engineering projects. Team player who can get the best out of the team.
