Our client based in Wakefield is looking to hire an engineering stores controller on a permanent basis.

Company:

A leading Brick Manufacturer based in the UK and during a large expansion phase increasing their offerings and sites around the UK. The new site in Wakefield is an investment in new technology and processes which will be fully automated brick slip manufacturing once established.

Job Description:

Engineering Stores administration The day to day management of the Engineering Stores and assist with maintenance administration of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system (Shire or similar) The development and improvement of Stores organisation and inventory control. Develop control parameters for the Factory based Stores locations To provide an effective Stores service to the Engineering Department, to control the purchasing of all materials and to ensure financial administrative procedures are followed Preparation of spares lists and part kits required for maintenance activity. To follow Company preferred supplier base To control and monitor a perpetual Stores inventory system Liaise with the Works Office, suppliers and engineering department as and when required The compilation of quarterly Store performance reports, to include such areas as increased supplier base, improvements in cost base and service elements Close involvement with Unit Accounts Department to ensure smooth administrative and financial procedures. Scheduling of maintenance activity in the absence of the Engineering Planner.

Essential Skills / Qualifications: ECDL computer trained or equivalent Computer literate including Word, Excel (All round IT skills) Physically fit. Due to the nature of manual handling within the stores environment Good standard of education, High GCSE grades or above Strong communication skills/telephone manner Self-motivated, able to work unsupervised and/or part of a team Strong organisational skills Able to work to targets / time scales

Desirable skills / Qualifications: Work experience in an Engineering/Manufacturing environment. Knowledge of Mechanical and electrical components. Ability to use basic hand tools. Previous experience managing an Engineering Stores System - stock control, computer based, and or operation of a computer based Maintenance PPM system.(e.g. Shire front line) Previous experience planning and supporting a maintenance shutdown period. Experience supporting engineering projects. Previous experience using 5S techniques Driving licence Certified counterbalance driver IOSH safety trained
