About Us:

Safran Electrical & Power are one of the world leaders in the design, development and manufacture of aircraft electrical systems. We recognise that aviation needs to innovate and change in order to protect our environment. We believe that future aircraft power systems will be hybrid-electric or full-electric, which is why we are working to develop and deliver advanced electrical solutions to help decarbonise flight. In addition to supporting the next generation of traditional aircraft, we are also working to support new VTol (Vertical Take-off and landing) products, light jets and urban mobility solutions that will revolutionise the way we fly. The UK Safran Electrical & Power team has expertise in designing and developing electrical systems comprising generators, power conversion, distribution and control, with developing expertise in electric motors for aircraft propulsion. Examples of projects:

air or oil cooled propulsion motors design and verification, electric generator for the hybrid electric system embedded in gas turbine engine, and advanced variable frequency generator for next generation aircraft electrical system. We are huge advocates of early employee development, and are keen to help you grow and develop throughout your internship. If the following applies to you, we'd love to hear from you: You have a strong interest in the aerospace industry You will be in your penultimate year of university, studying a bachelor's or master's degree in electro-mechanical engineering or mechatronics. You have an aptitude for hands-on activities, as well as being analytical and theoretical You are highly ambitious, and want to both shape and make a difference to the future of how we fly Eager to learn in a highly dynamic environment Desire to gain work experience within an engineering setting You are inquisitive, innovative, and are willing to challenge the status quo and explore new ideas.
