FINTEC recruit is recruiting for an Engineering Team Lead for our growing engineering/marine client based in Aberdeen. This is a permanent role working Monday to Friday (early finish on Fridays), salary negotiable by experience plus benefits pension, healthcare & private medical cover. You will be involved in the complete engineering lifecycle from design development through to delivery of the product. You will be a natural problem solver, and adaptable to meet client needs and focused to produce results. There will be some local and overseas travel involved in the role on occasions. Familiar with working to marine/defence standards and Classification Society rules is desirable.

Responsibilities:

To manage and lead an engineering team, providing technical leadership and engineering design input. Work in line with regulatory compliance requirements and accountable for the technical approvals. Maintain technical files and product designs in line with company standards & regulations. Manage system safety reviews and the safe design, validation and certification of our products, technical risk registers and create mitigation plans and ensuring team complies with company safety policies. Liaison with other internal departments e.g. Sales, supply chain, HSEQ, production. Offer team mentoring/development and be involved in team recruiting, onboarding and staff appraisals. To drive continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience required for the Engineering Manager role:

Delivery focused, able to produce results in challenging technical environments. Ability to coach, mentor and develop talent. Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline or relevant industry experience, Electrical, Mechanical or Naval. Post-graduate or professional qualification, e.g., chartered engineer status (desirable not essential). Experience with Product Lifecycle Management system for generating and storage of engineering packages. Experience in product design and/or design integration of engineering systems. Sound knowledge of general engineering principles. Experienced in leading and working in teams of varied disciplines. Familiar with international Quality and Safety standards (ISO 9001, 45001 etc.). Familiar with working to marine/defence standards and Classification Society rules (LR, DNV, DEFSTAN etc.) is desirable.
