39 hours per week, across 7 days as a weekend shift pattern is in place, covering 1 in 3 weekends. You will be responsible for: Ensure health, safety, and security of staff, contractors, premises, and equipment by encouraging and monitoring best practices. Develop and implement maintenance procedures and ensure compliance. Supervise and schedule maintenance and trades staff, including electricians, plumbers, and building engineers. Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities. Carry out inspections of facilities to identify and resolve issues. Manage relationships with contractors and service providers. Assist in the delivery of facilities services to the prison in line with contractual commitments. Communicate problems and concerns promptly through line management for quick resolution. Ensure all requirements are met by liaising with HMPS management to manage expectations. Support local and business zero carbon programmes strategically. Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities. Help maintain standards as set out in the Service Level Agreement. Check and sign timesheets in accordance with procedures. Manage the CAFM system. Monitor the BMS System. Handle all other reasonable requests as determined by your line manager. What makes this role unique is
you will supervise a team of differently skilled engineers and assist the Site Manager in the operation of the site. Prison Security Clearance will be required (Amey will support you through this process). We want to hear from you if you have/are: Proven experience as a maintenance supervisor or similar role within Facilities/Estate management. Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. Trade certification to a minimum level 3 or degree in engineering, facility management, or a relevant field. Extensive knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and compliance. Excellent leadership, team management, and man-management skills. Strong organisational and planning abilities.
