These are just a few reasons to click apply on this great opportunity for a Maintenance Shift Team Manager to work at the company’s manufacturing plant in Bury. The business has produced construction materials and products for both construction and home improvement markets for over 100 years.
The site is a heavy manufacturing plant, providing a challenging environment for our engineers with a range of material and aggregate processing, mixing, conveying, and some heavy pressing equipment.
As a Maintenance Engineering Team Manager, you will lead a small shift team in delivering site production plans by ensuring optimum availability, performance, and ongoing improvement of site machinery, plant, and systems. You will achieve your goals through effective team management in delivering engineering team KPI’s while ensuring adherence to all health and safety requirements.
Your duties will include contributing to site maintenance planning activities through our CMMS system, including supporting our engineering stores personnel to ensure the availability of engineering spares for maintenance plan delivery.
We are seeking an experienced people manager with proven experience in supporting the development and improvement of maintenance colleagues through structured performance reviews, appraisals, situational management, and the coordination of training plan delivery. The role has a mechanical bias, but an appreciation of electrical maintenance and the ability to lead a multi-skilled team will be advantageous.

Key required skills:
Excellent fault-finding skills
Qualified, time-served apprentice trained in a mechanical engineering discipline, ideally to NVQ level 3, HND, or similar.
Proven experience of leading, motivating, and developing small maintenance teams.
Experience in automated, fast-paced manufacturing environments.
Experience in hydraulics & pneumatics are essential.
Recognised safety training, for example, IOSH or NEBOSH.
Forward-thinking and planning work/improvements.
Knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Engineering Best Practice systems & processes would be beneficial.
