A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join BEAR Scotland's SE bridges team as an Engineering Tradesperson. The South East Unit includes 870 bridges and structures including the iconic Queensferry Crossing and Forth Road Bridge. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering Tradesperson to join the Major Bridges Maintenance Team. The role will involve installing access systems as part of a comprehensive maintenance team. You may also be required to carry out minor metal work repairs/installations, driving/operating bridge gantries works on the Forth Road Bridge/Queensferry Crossing and other locations throughout the SE Unit as required. The role also requires involvement in the day-to-day activities relating to the delivery of routine and cyclic maintenance works and schemes of up to £1,000,000 in value, at South Queensferry Depot in the South East Unit. This is a full-time role. Responsibilities include: Carry out cyclic maintenance tasks on FRB and QC. Carry out installation of bridge access systems – e.g., cradles, underdeck access platforms. Minor fabrication and installation works. Adhere to Health & Safety legislation. Operation of bridge access systems (gantries). Assist other trades as required. Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Current experience/qualification in an appropriate Engineering discipline, typically SVQ 3 as a minimum. Must be able to work to strict deadlines. Must be able to work as part of a composite team as required. Must be able to work at height. Must be able to work in confined spaces. A full approved UK driving licence. Why BEAR?
