On behalf of our esteemed client, a successful secondary school in Newcastle, we are seeking a skilled and adaptable Cover English Teacher to join their dedicated team. This full-time, permanent position commences in September and presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator to make a valuable contribution to the school's English department. The Position As a Cover English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in the absence of regular teaching staff. You will maintain continuity of learning, ensuring that students receive engaging and effective lessons that align with the school's curriculum and educational objectives. Key Responsibilities Delivering engaging and comprehensive English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, utilizing pre-set lesson plans or developing your own as needed. Managing classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment. Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing feedback to regular teaching staff. Collaborating with colleagues within the English department to share resources and best practices. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in English or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification. Demonstrated experience teaching English at the secondary level, preferably across Key Stages 3 and 4. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching, with the ability to manage diverse classroom environments.
