We are ideally looking for someone who possesses the below traits and experiences:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English PGCE successfully completed Experience teaching English Language and English Literature in a UK secondary school Experience and confidence with planning and marking Ability to teach up to and including A-Level (desirable but not essential) Confident behaviour management techniques and a strong classroom presence Demonstrate a strong subject knowledge and understanding of the UK national curriculum for English Language and Literature Excellent school-based references Ability to commit to a full-time position ASAP Enhanced, child-only DBS (on the update service), or be willing to obtain one
You will be responsible for:
Planning and delivering high-quality English lessons catering to a range of year groups and abilities Differentiating each lesson to suit the individual needs within your classes Ensuring the best academic outcomes from Year 7- Year 13 English Language and English Literature Collaborating successfully with colleagues within the department to ensure it is a high-performing subject within the school Communicating effectively with staff and pupils alike, creating a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment Promoting equal opportunities and ensuring every student is able to thrive Assessing pupils' progress in a timely manner on a regular basis and providing them with both written and verbal feedback, conducive to their learning Contributing to the wider school community through active engagement with extracurricular activities, parents' evenings, etc.
