SEND Teacher of English (responsibility to lead dept.)

At Protocol Education we are currently looking for an experienced, resilient, and enthusiastic Teacher of English to work full time at a well-established SEND school just outside of Harrogate with easy access to the A1.
We require a SEND Teacher at a Good to outstanding setting. The role would be great for someone who has had enough of mainstream and is looking for a new challenge in a really supportive environment for both staff and students.
About the role:
Duties can include:
Planning and delivering adaptable lessons to a wide range of pupils and abilities. Leading the delivery of English within the setting. Establishing a safe and stimulating learning environment. Teaching useful strategies that will aid the students in their out-of-school lives. Marking effectively to enable progression with students. Safeguarding of all students and staff. Assessment including Public examinations. 1-to-1 Intervention. Group intervention. Whole school work. The ideal SEND Teacher will have:
QTS/ECT. Experience teaching English with 2 to 3 years experience and aspirations to lead a department. SEND Teacher experience:
Build strong relationships. Be able to de-escalate behavioral needs safely and calmly. Experience teaching in mainstream secondary, SEND, pupil referral units, SEMH schools, SEND specific units. Plan, deliver, and mark a minimum of a good lesson. Be able to commute easily. Excellent behavior management skills and adapt to the schools or AP's ethos. (ADD, ADHD, ODD, CAMHS, Complex Needs, Behaviour Difficulties, Autism, or MLD.) Why choose Protocol Education?
