**Position: English Teacher** **Location:** Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire **Start Date:** September 2024 **Contract Types:** Various contracts available - temporary to December, permanent (1x year in first instance), or 2/3 x term temporary to permanent role. Open to ECTs and experienced MPS / UPS teachers. Strong leadership with a clear vision & positive work-life balance. Could you see yourself flourishing in a well-run and cohesive department supported by an established HOD? We are looking for a capable and upbeat English Teacher to join a leading school in Welwyn Garden City for September 2024. Tradewind Secondary has supported this large, popular Secondary Academy for a number of years and is now looking to appoint an English Teacher following the Christmas break. The role involves teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and/or 5, with a view to committing on a permanent basis from as early as December 2024. **Key Highlights:** **'Good' Ofsted School (2021)** with good personal development, training, and a focus on staff welfare. **Competitive and uplifted salaries:** MPS 1-6 and UPS 1-3 with TLRs available - London Fringe. **Good leadership, positive and engaging pupils, and modern building.** **Location:** Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire - Commutable from Enfield, Barnet, and Essex. Ample parking for drivers and easy transport links from North London (Kings Cross / Finsbury Park). The school is a short walk from Welwyn Garden City Station (10 minutes) and offers modern facilities and long-term career progression. Pupils come from a non-selective background and wide catchment, and they behave well with disruptions tending to be low-level and well-supported by the school's behaviour policy. Teachers here work hard for their pupils, who enjoy learning and benefit from a full Google suite and Chromebooks for all pupils. The English department has always been a popular subject, and the staff within the department are no exception. Spread across a range of experiences, the HOD operates an open-door policy and shares an equal load across the timetables. We are able to support a range of experience levels from graduates with a good understanding of English to career teachers looking for fast-track opportunities onto leadership. Early Career Teachers (E.C.T.s) and graduates will enjoy strong links to local universities, experienced mentors, and structured support. Many of the Academy's HODs and SLT are teachers who have stayed at the school following their successful ECT years.
