This English tutor role involves: Working with children potentially with Special Education Needs who need face-to-face support, including those with ASD, SEMH, or PMLD, at their homes, care homes, or a local area (e.g., library) as agreed with parents/carers. Working with pupils who may be in care but need extra tuition support (No SEN). Planning resources around the child’s needs, focusing on developing their knowledge in English. Engaging the child with tasks and ensuring they can access the learning. Managing behavior and implementing a range of behavior strategies. area and can be accessed by road, bus, and tram. What we are looking for in an English tutor: SEN experience (as a teaching assistant, one-to-one tutor, or similar). Able to plan and deliver engaging, nurturing sessions. Skills to raise pupils’ confidence and learning. Experience working with children with challenging behavior. Ability to check that pupils are on track to achieve their desired learning outcomes and provide feedback. To be successful in your application, you must be able to provide evidence of your skills and experience. Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered). Teaching Personnel can support your application should this be required. Working hours are between Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 16:00 approximately.
