This academic year, there is an increased number of school age pupils who are unable to attend school due to a variety of obstacles. Therefore, Teaching Personnel are helping to create an environment in which these pupils can access an education. Many pupils who need this type of provision may have special and additional needs including SEMH difficulties, Autism, Attachment Disorder, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder and Specific Learning Difficulties.
We are looking for an ambitious, compassionate
English tutor
to fill this role. As a tutor, you will need to build a relationship with students to help tailor your approach to cater for their additional needs and preferences. Additionally, you may be required to quickly adapt and change your approach to suit the environment in which the pupil is.
The pay for tutoring is
£25-£35 per hour . It is desirable for applicants to hold a full UK driving licence as a selection of the pupils will need to be tutored within their home or at a local library.
Requirements for the role:
Professional Teaching Qualifications are preferred (Qualified Teacher Status, QTS).
An excellent grasp of the English Language.
A desire to promote and encourage, as well as motivate themselves.
An Enhanced Child Workforce only DBS on the update service, or willingness to purchase one via TP Tutors (support for obtaining one can be provided).
A strong subject knowledge of the
English Curriculum .
Experience of working with children/young people with SEND, SEMH and other additional needs.
Professional references from your two most recent employers, totalling 24 months from a 10-year career history.
