Undertaking the firm’s internal technical training program in order to gain a solid understanding of R&D Tax legislation. Understanding the R&D eligibility criteria and applying these concepts across a wide range of sectors. Assisting with guiding clients through the enquiry process. Analysing HMRC enquiry letters and assisting with drafting responses with reference to relevant case-law and R&D Tax legislation. Organising and participating in enquiry workshops and proposing response strategies. Drafting and peer reviewing enquiry responses. Analysing financial information and preparing responses to HMRC’s financial questions. Researching relevant legislation/case law for particular enquiries. Supporting the team in review of technical reports and delivering training to the wider team. Keeping up to date on current/future R&D legislation. You will have:
At least 1-2 years of commercial experience – a prior knowledge of the R&D incentives and/or related innovation funding from outside the sector is desirable but not essential. Graduated with a 2:1, 1st or an equivalent qualification in your degree with demonstrable experience in report- or essay-writing. Experience of working in a collaborative environment that thrives on sharing ideas and feedback. The ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely in both written and verbal form. A natural problem-solving mindset: the ability to think critically and conduct your own research around a given topic. Exceptional time, client, and project management skills. A genuine interest and curiosity in Software, Science, Technology & Innovation. The capabilities to deliver innovative solutions to complex challenges. An interest in your own personal development. The ability to actively listen to others and ensure that they are understood.
