Are you passionate about supporting business ideas through to start-up? Are you keen to support early-stage innovators, freelancers and seeking self-employment? If so, we are looking for somebody who can work to expand our entrepreneurial programmes both inside and outside of the curriculum alongside providing one-to-one enterprise advisory services to our students and graduates. The ideal candidate will be: Experienced supporting early-stage innovators and entrepreneurs towards business start-up through individual information, advice and coaching. Experienced developing and delivering training and presentations. Skilled at the promotion of targeted entrepreneurial activities. Knowledgeable on business support and the funding landscape. A little bit about us: The Careers & Enterprise team is part of The Library. We are open to students throughout their time at the University of Salford and to our alumni. Our team is passionate about helping students develop essential employability skills. We provide one-to-one careers and enterprise appointments, workshops, online resources, events, and careers fairs. We deliver our service from our Careers Hub at Peel Park Campus and through online delivery. What’s in it for you? Competitive salary and excellent pension scheme. An impressive 32 days leave, plus bank holidays, additional time off at Christmas, and the opportunity to buy even more! Flexible, agile, and hybrid working - we support a culture of both flexible and agile working to help manage the demands of work with personal life subject to business requirements. Other stuff you need to know: At Salford, we are proud of our diverse student population, and we work hard to create an inclusive culture where all our students and colleagues can bring their whole selves to the University. In the Library, Careers & Enterprise, we’re committed to creating welcoming spaces, accessible resources, and open and inclusive learning experiences where students can see themselves reflected in the staff they meet and feel inspired and supported to learn. As part of our commitment to creating a diverse team that draws from our widest talent pool, we recognise that we currently have a lack of diversity within our student-facing team and would particularly encourage applications from those from a minoritised ethnic background and those who identify as male. We’re continually looking to improve our recruitment processes to ensure they’re fair and inclusive. We’d like to complete an application review of this vacancy, and we’re hoping we can include your data. Participation is optional - we’ll ask you to opt in or out in your application. If you take part, this review won't affect your application. It can take place approximately up to 6 months after the closing date. Your data would only be shared in a small group of authorised colleagues, and will help us monitor inclusivity, reduce unconscious bias, and create better experiences. If you need any adjustments made to the application or selection process so you can do your best, let us know. We will be happy to help. If you would like an informal chat about the role please contact Ingrid Kwadzovi, i.m.kwadzovi@salford.ac.uk
