The Communities and Sustainability team collaborates with all business functions to meet environmental objectives. The Environment Manager - Sustainability will support these teams in environmental strategy delivery with a particular focus on nature, waste, water, and noise, focusing mainly on the technical aspects of these impacts.
Responsibilities
Providing technical expertise on topics related to nature, waste, and water, supporting colleagues within the Communities and Sustainability team and across the wider business.
Conducting analysis and research to aid in the development and implementation of Heathrow's strategies for nature, waste, and water.
Contributing to development plans and capital projects, ensuring environmental considerations are addressed to minimize impacts and maximize opportunities.
Monitoring and reporting on environmental performance, both internally and externally, and supporting the Emissions and Sustainability Data Lead when necessary.
Fostering collaboration with key stakeholders across the business, including teams in engineering, retail, finance, and procurement.
Qualifications
Building and sustaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the business to promote positive change.
Professional experience in environmental management and sustainability, particularly in areas such as waste management, the circular economy, nature, and water.
Understanding of environmental impacts related to the operation and development of an international airport.
Strong attention to detail and quality, coupled with a genuine enthusiasm for driving business transformation.
Proven project management experience.
Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and presentation to support informed decision-making.
Ideally you will also have:
Knowledge of environmental legislation and compliance requirements relevant to airport operations.
Skills in developing innovative solutions to address environmental challenges.
