What to Expect in the Role:

The Environmental and Operational Services Team at Stratford-on-Avon District Council is looking for three individuals with a passion for maintaining our great environment and having local pride to make a positive difference in our communities.

It’s an exciting time to work in Environmental and Operational Services, as we are at the forefront of change. As one of the most visible and high-profile services the Council provides, we’d love you to join us as we deliver major changes to help our residents further reduce their waste, drive up recycling, improve cleanliness standards, and reduce our carbon footprint.

Working in the community across Stratford-on-Avon District to make a real difference, you will use your excellent people and communication skills to build relationships and develop partnerships with various local stakeholders and contractors to deliver services. You will use your positive, can-do attitude to ensure that the communities across the District benefit from high-quality services.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Lead on monitoring the delivery of the Council’s contracted waste collection, street cleansing, and grounds maintenance services.

Patrol and enforce the Council’s public open spaces and car parks.

Support the Environmental and Operational Services Team Leaders to ensure that the Council’s contractors deliver excellent, customer-focused, value-for-money services that meet the public's needs and enhance satisfaction.

What You’ll Need:

We are flexible about your experience. You may be a new graduate or experienced in waste, recycling, and street cleansing services. Whatever your background, you’ll be interested in the environment and making a positive difference.

Effective communicator with the ability to engage with audiences at all levels.

Excellent customer service skills, including handling and resolving customer enquiries and complaints.

Strong people skills, with the ability to build excellent relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders and contractors at all levels.

Driven, with a positive approach to problem-solving and innovation, with the ability to make things happen.
