at Sizewell C!

We are excited to announce that the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) is seeking an experienced and passionate Environmental and Sustainability Manager to join our dynamic team for the Sizewell C project in Suffolk, with some travel to London. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, significantly contributing to our clean energy future for at least 60 years.

Why This Role Matters:

In this key role, you will support and advise our project teams on all aspects of sustainability and environmental matters, ensuring we meet both contractual and regulatory requirements. Your leadership will drive a culture of continual improvement, setting new benchmarks in environmental management and sustainability within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and guide the Environmental and Sustainability strategy for Sizewell C. Provide expert advice to project teams, including the Delivery Leadership Team and subcontractors. Manage sustainability and environmental risks, consulting with clients, stakeholders, and regulators as needed. Conduct environmental and sustainability inspections and audits, promoting continuous improvement. Develop and coach Environmental and Sustainability advisors. Drive sustainability action plans using data from assessments and audits. Ensure lessons learned from incidents and audits are communicated and implemented effectively. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Promote innovative environmental and sustainability initiatives. Qualifications/Experience :

Chartered environmental professional. Internal environmental auditor qualification. Competent ecological surveyor for one protected species. Knowledge or experience of Development Consent Orders (DCOs) and Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs). Proven experience in the infrastructure industry in an environmental and/or sustainability role. Strong leadership skills and experience in leading a team. Commercial awareness and cost estimation experience. Degree in a relevant field. High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to operate in diverse environments. Proven ability to influence environmental and sustainability practices within projects. Organizational skills and experience in implementing ISO 14001. For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK.
