Job Description

This busy role requires an environmental professional with a wide range of experience across all environmental program areas. The Environmental Engineer will support the Environmental Department in its core aims to protect the environment by preventing negative environmental impacts through pollution prevention and response, waste reduction and by championing sustainable development. The role will focus heavily on maintenance and improvement of the Environmental Management System to ensure environmental compliance on all activities to include all services, operations, facilities, personnel, tenants, and contractors. To this end, the role will be heavily involved in ongoing construction projects from inception to handover to lifelong environmental overview.

Basic Job Requirements

You should be able to demonstrate competencies in several of the following areas: • Environmental experience with major construction and/or demolition projects; • Technical review of environmental assessments, investigation reports and other technical/policy documents • Assist in developing education, outreach materials and delivering a full range of Environmental training • Maintenance of several Environmental Management System registers • Reviewing and writing environmental management plans and standard operating procedures (operational controls).

Other Job Requirements

• Established work experience in the Environmental Sector; • Professional or working towards membership of a recognized environmental body for example but not limited to IEMA / CIEEM; • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card holder or working towards certification; • Excellent computer skills to include MS Office, Word and Excel; • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and technical journals; and • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from associated stakeholders.

Must be authorized to work in the UK.

This role is unique in its environmental requirements and will therefore require the Environmental Engineer to successfully complete further training as and when required. This could entail training off-site or overseas.
