We are looking for an experienced and qualified
Environmental Health Officer
to join our commercial safety team dealing with food safety, health and safety, infectious disease control, and export health certification. You will need to be highly motivated and able to work independently, with the ability to plan and manage work. You will be reporting to the
Food, Health & Safety and Licensing Manager/Senior Environmental Health Officer (Commercial Safety) . You should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret legislation and enforce it in a balanced way using all the legislative tools available. The successful applicant must be qualified and competent in accordance with the current Food Law Code of Practice and have recent experience working in food safety in a Local Authority. Ideally, you should also have worked as an authorised officer under section 19 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. Experience in the inspection of approved premises and export health certificate procedures would be an advantage, although development and training in these work areas will be facilitated. Ideally, you will have recent experience in relation to these technical specialisms; however, applications are also welcome from those with expertise in other areas who wish to broaden their experience or from those who are recently qualified.
