We are hiring! We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Health Officer working in our Housing Standards Team. Dorset is now one of the biggest local authorities in the country, in a beautiful part of Southwest England.

Whether you’re an experienced Environmental Health Officer or recently graduated, the role in our Housing Standards Team will enable you to take your career to the next level.

You’ll get the chance to work on a wide range of private sector housing topics; from HMO’s to HHSRS, Empty Homes to Park Homes. We have a track record of innovative service delivery, partnership working, digital solutions, project work and sensible, risk-based enforcement.

On-the-job support, training, and other opportunities mean you will develop personally and professionally, whether that means expanding your existing experience or completing your professional logbook towards EHORB registration and beyond.

You will have a Degree / MSC or Diploma in Environmental Health. You may have previous experience of working in an enforcement environment or housing-related experience. We are also keen to hear from those starting out in their career, who have recently graduated from CIEH accredited Environmental Health Degree/MSC courses this summer.

You will be customer-focused, with a practical mind and enjoy working within a small team of people delivering a wide range of different enforcement services.
