Airswift are currently recruiting for a highly skilled

Environmental Specialist

to join an innovative and dynamic project team in Aberdeen. The right candidate will join on an Ad-hoc/open ended, part time or remote contract basis. THE ROLE Reporting to the Director of HSE and Wells the Environmental & Emissions Lead will be accountable for delivering improvements in the client's Environmental Management Systems and being the focal point for emission data from across the business to deliver improvements in relation to the management of emissions, particularly CO 2

e. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering results against strategic plans and working with various functional managers to achieve these goals. The role represents the company by interacting with external industry bodies, including the relevant Regulators by proactively engaging, responding and challenging where appropriate.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES The Environmental and Emissions Lead shall be accountable for:

Providing environmental support and advice to the HSEA leadership team and wider business, ensuring compliance with both company and regulatory environmental requirements. Proactively assisting the company with discharging its environmental accountabilities, particularly with regards permit compliance and assurance of data collation to support annual UK ETS verification. Driving improvements in our Environmental Management Systems. Promotion of the company's environmental culture, performance and compliance obligations across the business. Identifying, communicating and providing mitigation for emerging environmental business risks. Monitoring environmental incidents and near miss data looking for underlying trends and causal factors that could indicate weaknesses in the company's Environmental Management System. Subsequently, work with the relevant directorate to ensure necessary corrective and preventative measures are put in place. Providing advice to environmental accident and incident investigations up to and including participating/leading the investigation team. Providing ongoing assurance of all incidents, near misses, audits and inspections to ensure progress and close out is suitable and sufficient. Developing and agreeing cross-asset and industry strategies, techniques and practices to target continual improvement in environmental performance. Working with our supply chain, ensuring that company environmental requirements are being met up to and including conducting EMS audits on the Contractor. In the event of an emergency, carry out such duties as identified in the ER procedures or as directed. Additional Responsibilities Atmospherics support OGUK technical group attendance - involved with establishing targets and contributing towards industry view on Net Zero. Technical expert for UK ETS for the company - North Sea, including Streamlined Energy & Carbon Reporting focal point, including owner of baseline atmospherics. Flare and consent management focal point across the company - North Sea. As part of the Emissions Management Team:

Responsible for providing emission data from across the asset base to link into current and future performance in relation to the management of CO 2 e emissions. Liaison with asset process engineers to ensure that understanding of current and future emission performance is understood and can be factored into discussion with the evaluation of technical opportunities.

Assist in the review of emissions reduction opportunities evaluation and input across the company - North Sea.

Regulatory support Engagement with regulators for reportable events, or where non-reportable events generate regulator interest. Management of company technical resources where there is a need for their direct engagement with the regulator. Ensure HSEA leadership are aware of emerging issues & unsolicited regulatory communications. Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant environmental regulations, Company procedures and industry practices. Actively shares the company vision and demonstrates ability to adapt to change. Experience Experienced the oil and gas industry environment advisor. Thorough understanding of the UK regulatory regime from an Environment perspective. Detailed understanding of Environmental Management Systems. Detailed understanding of the UK ETS (or previous EU ETS). Working knowledge of offshore including oil & gas processing, water treatment, utilities and drilling/well operations. Strong appreciation of both Major Accident Hazards (Causation and Prevention) and environmental consequence. Experience and understanding of risk assessment techniques, comparative assessment and other environmental assessment methodologies. Offshore experience desirable. Qualifications Qualified to degree level in an environmental field or equivalent experience and can evidence professional and personal development and/or learning. Member of relevant professional body. Environmental management system (EMS) audit qualification desirable. Oil spill response training desirable. The next step Apply now!
