Bell Equine Bell Equine Veterinary Clinic is seeking an Equine Surgeon or experienced Lameness Clinician to join our multidisciplinary team of boarded surgeons, medics, and diagnostic imagers. The role is primarily hospital-based but attending cases in the field would be encouraged, and there are also opportunities to develop particular clinical interests. The hospital is well equipped with excellent conventional and advanced imaging systems facilitating thorough work up of varied orthopaedic cases (including radiography, ultrasonography, scintigraphy, standing MRI, standing cone beam CT and fan beam CT systems). We also have invested in state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment ranging from sensor-based lameness systems, through to class IV laser systems and have surgical facilities including arthroscopy, laparoscopy, surgical lasers and ASIF kits. The successful applicant will ideally have ECVS or ACVS board certification (or be board-eligible) but ECVSMR or ACVSMR diplomats will be considered. The successful applicant will need to be able to work both independently as well as part of a team. The role provides opportunities to generate the applicant's own surgical caseload as well as receive surgical referrals for surgically trained clinicians. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and a willingness to be flexible and contribute to private practice life are essential. The position could suit either a full or part-time position (including participation in the out of hours rota), but exact hours and working pattern can be agreed with some flexibility. The team at Bell Equine are dedicated to providing excellent care to our patients by applying the principles of evidence-based veterinary practice. We are also committed to clinical research, innovation and further education, as well as creating a fun and positive environment at work. The candidate will be expected to help with formal and informal teaching and mentoring of visiting students and in-house staff including interns, residents, ambulatory vets and nurses. The successful candidate will also be working amongst a collaborative group of Specialists within CVS and there will be opportunities for training and networking within the Group. Bell Equine Veterinary Clinic is part of the CVS Group. The salary will be dependent on the individual's experience, but CVS offers an appealing package and as a Specialist, we offer a £2600 CPD budget per year and 10 days study time.
