Due to continued expansion, this exceptional company is seeking to recruit a Bench Joiner to join their friendly team in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. The ideal candidate will be someone who has a ‘customer-first' approach, is able to work under their own initiative within the systems of the business, and is a true team player. About the role As a Cabinet Maker / Bench Joiner, you will be responsible for crafting and assembling wooden components to create high-quality furniture and fixtures. Your expertise will contribute to the success of our projects and ensure the delivery of exceptional artisanship. About the responsibilities The company takes pride in giving their clients a first-class service to maintain their excellent reputation. You'll join the company's dedicated team of joiners, whilst liaising with both designers and project managers. In the role of Bench Joiner, you will: Interpret technical drawings and specifications to understand project requirements Operate a variety of woodworking machinery, hand tools, and power tools to shape, cut, and assemble wooden components Accurately measure, mark, and cut wood pieces to ensure precise fitting and alignment Shape wooden surfaces using techniques such as planing and sanding Assemble wooden components using joinery techniques such as tenon, dovetail, and biscuit joints Install hardware, fittings, and finishes to complete the final product Inspect finished products for quality, making any necessary adjustments or repairs Collaborate with colleagues, including designers, other joiners, and the installation team, to ensure effective project execution and provide technical expertise as required Adhere to health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment About the rewards For the full-time permanent role of Bench Joiner, there is a salary on offer of £14 per hour (circa £29,000 per annum) and benefits include: Working hours 8am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday Private health Insurance including optical and dental cover Employee Assistance programme access to 24/7 counselling and support helpline Employee product discount through BrightExchange Contributory pension Free parking and refreshments Ongoing professional development and training will be given A supportive, creative, and dynamic work environment within a small friendly team Regular 1-2-1 meetings and KPI reviews Regular team lunches About you To be successful for the role of Bench Joiner, you must have / be: Excellent communication skills, approachable and enthusiastic Proven experience as a Cabinet Maker or a similar role within the woodworking industry A minimum of 3 years' experience of Bench Joinery - essential An appreciation of high-end bespoke furniture - essential Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications Excellent knowledge of woodworking machinery, hand tools, and power tools Ability to accurately measure, mark, and cut wood pieces for precise fitting Strong joinery skills and familiarity with various joinery techniques Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality artisanship Effective communication and teamwork skills Highly organized with effective time management and prioritization skills Prior experience in bespoke furniture joinery The ability to install furniture in clients' homes would be an advantage Ability to work to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Able to uphold the Company's vision, mission, and values in all interactions with clients, team members, and third parties How to Apply Please note that eRecruitSmart is advertising on behalf of the Hiring Company and your CV will be sent to the Hiring Manager who is responsible for the vacancy that you have applied to.
