The East Riding Safeguarding Children Partnership (ERSCP) currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to join the ERSCP Business Unit as the Policy and Practice Development Officer. This is a varied and interesting role which can be challenging at times but is ideal for someone who is able to use their own initiative and work independently within children’s services. The post holder will report to the ERSCP Business Unit Manager. The ERSCP Business Unit is hosted within the Children Young People Support & Safeguarding Services (CYPSSS). This is a permanent post. The post holder will support the ERSCP Business Unit Manager and Partners to embed a culture of robust child safeguarding practice, ensuring there are effective policies, strategies, procedures, and guidance to meet statutory responsibilities as determined by legislation and national and local guidance including the Children Acts (1989, 2004) and Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023). The post holder must be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults, raising concerns as appropriate. The post holder will develop and manage the implementation and effectiveness of the East Riding Safeguarding Children Partnership (ERSCP) strategies and guidance to support the child safeguarding arrangements. The role includes the following tasks: Liaison with colleagues to ensure that children’s and adults’ safeguarding strategies and procedures are developed and implemented. Undertake projects and in-depth research related to child safeguarding. Plan, facilitate, and deliver with partners a multi-agency learning and development programme. Support the development and implementation of a framework for the collation and analysis of key inter-agency data and performance indicators. Co-ordinate multi-agency reflective assurance activity to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of work undertaken by partner agencies. Project manage the Child Safeguarding Practice Review (CSPR) and reflection processes. Manage feedback and consultation arrangements with children and young people and their families. Develop and maintain effective relations with partner agencies, voluntary, faith, and community sectors. Develop and deliver briefings, seminars, training, and workshops to promote key safeguarding messages and good practice.
