We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join our Environment & Safety Division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride. We are looking for a proactive, reliable and committed Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join our Environmental team. It is key that you are able to work efficiently and independently, as well as working well as part of a wider team. While you may be performing the same array of tests day to day, the projects you undertake will change, creating variety in your day to day life. The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to): Prepare a variety of samples ready for analysis. Analysis of samples, including water, soil, swab, and fuel samples. Media preparation. Calibration of laboratory equipment. To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate: Ability to work well as part of a team. The ability to follow written procedures accurately. Ability to work independently when required and use own initiative. Motivated and able to prioritize workload. About Environmental: Our Environmental team is made up of many different specialists operating in various areas of expertise. The main areas we cover are Environmental Monitoring and Consultancy together with specialist laboratories to support our services. Our services range from onsite monitoring and sample collection, to consultancy works on large contaminated land projects, complemented with onsite works for dust, noise, and local exhaust emissions.
