Job Title: ESG Co-ordinatorLocation: East YorkshireSalary: £35,000 plus benefits including up to 12.5% annual bonusAre you a passionate, engaging, and proactive ESG professional wanting to implement environmental and ethical practices, policies and cultural behaviours?If so, this is the job for you!HSE Recruitment Network are recruiting for an ESG Co-ordinator to work for one of the UKs most forward-thinking construction companies, specialising in the fast-track sustainable delivery of modular buildings.The role will be focused on implementing environmental strategies including carbon reduction plans, mapping materiality issues, and developing KPIs and processes to ensure continual improvement across operations in line with the company ESG objectives.Main Responsibilities:
  • Working as part of the ESG Working Group towards the alignment of our shareholder values with our current carbon reduction strategies, and improving broader ESG performance across the group;
  • Assisting the Group with the ESG aspects of materiality, including mapping of identified materiality issues to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, analysing potential opportunities for improvement, and ensuring ESG alignment in accordance with our ESG Policy statement;
  • Developing KPIs and associated processes to ensure continuous improvement across our operations in line with our ESG objectives;
  • Provide dedicated data analysis for the ESG team to support internal and external data reporting;
  • Carbon footprinting, long term forecasting and creation of high-level impact assessments to enable movement towards a Zero Carbon position in future
  • Working with the ESG Committee to further develop the ‘Group’ ESG strategy;
  • Supporting our Diversity & Inclusion Champion on the design and implementation of D&I strategies and policies
  • Assisting in the design and delivery of ESG training to staff;
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the officer ensures that ESG factors are effectively integrated into financial reporting processes and systems. This involves analyzing ESG risks and opportunities, developing appropriate metrics, and aligning reporting with recognised frameworks such as GRI, SASB, and TCFD;
  • Assisting with the preparation of the Company’s Sustainability section within its Annual Report;
  • Staying abreast of developments in ESG trends, including climate science, ESG-focussed tools and practices used.
  • Collaborating closely with the internal stakeholders on ESG to accelerate improvements, gain insights into the supply chain, and drive overall performance. You need to be comfortable partnering with a range of internal teams, such as finance, operations, supply chain, and commercial, but also with the extra layer of external commitments to suppliers and customers.
  • Horizon scanning for emerging carbon-related policies or frameworks which could impact the organisation and advising on how best to implement or react to these.
  • Participate in supply chain sustainability audits as well as external ESG audits.
  • Advise and support internal stakeholders on achievement of the business ESG objectives and actions
  • Support line managers to incorporate value add ESG targets into team members performance contracts and embedding ESG processes in BAU.
  • Promote awareness of corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitments internally and externally
Essential Experience, Training and Qualifications:
  • ESG frameworks and modular industry knowledge and experience
  • Analytical - the ability to analyse, interpret, derive insights and communicate carbon and other business data to a range of stakeholders with varying levels of knowledge.
  • Organisational skills - personal efficiency, time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands are key.
  • Communication skills - managing diverse stakeholders and viewpoints.
  • Commercial acumen - to get involved in strategic decision-making within the business as an influencer.
  • Role modelling - demonstrate and lead on the values, initiatives and culture of the organisation.
  • Excellent computer literacy including strong MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills;
