About the Role: This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team of Physics teachers in a dynamic department. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Physics education at the school, inspiring students to develop a deep understanding of the subject and a passion for scientific exploration. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Management: Provide visionary leadership for the Physics department, setting clear direction and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Lead the development and implementation of a stimulating and challenging Physics curriculum, ensuring it aligns with the National Curriculum and incorporates the latest advancements in Physics education. Oversee the recruitment, development, and performance management of the Physics teaching staff. Budget effectively to ensure the department has the necessary resources to deliver high-quality teaching and learning. Teaching and Learning: Contribute to the teaching of Physics across the curriculum, potentially including Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11). Foster a love of Physics in students and equip them with the knowledge, skills, and understanding to excel in the subject. Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students reach their full potential. The Ideal Candidate: A highly qualified and experienced Physics teacher with a proven track record of leadership success. A deep understanding of the National Curriculum for Physics and a passion for innovative teaching methods. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. The ability to motivate and inspire students, fostering a love of Physics and scientific inquiry. Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead and develop a team effectively.
