A rare and exciting opportunity awaits a driven, visionary, hands-on leader, with exceptional attention to detail to manage a highly prestigious, award-winning estate that seamlessly blends heritage with innovation. The Estate Farm Manager will play a pivotal role, overseeing the day-to-day operations of a 5,000-acre mixed farm enterprise. At the heart of this operation is a 400-head dairy unit, operating an autumn calving programme through state-of-the-art parlour and facilities. The livestock enterprise extends to a 500-strong sheep flock and small native beef herd, complemented by a diverse arable rotation including lucerne, red clover, grass, and whole crop production - all supporting a comprehensive farm-to-feed approach whilst creating habitats and landscape to encourage wildlife to flourish.

Estate Farm Manager Role Responsibilities:

To oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the estate's farming enterprise To oversee all aspects of dairy herd management, including breeding programs and health protocols To lead the dairy operations and activities, to deliver high quality milk and drive yield improvements To manage the grazing systems and grassland to optimise organic pasture utilisation To manage the arable/forage operations and ensure compliance with conservation schemes and incentives To lead and inspire a dedicated team ensuring high performance and excellence To utilise farm management software and budgeting tools to monitor and report on performance To work collaboratively with the wider estate team and industry professionals To network and represent the estate within the farming community, ensuring the farm is highly presentable at all times

Skills the Estate Farm Manager will need:

Essential: A proven track record in farm management at a senior level, particularly in dairy operations Practical experience in dairy herd management Strong leadership and team management abilities Strong communication skills and professional demeanor Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills Commercial and financial acumen Proficiency with farm management software and data analysis A positive and proactive problem solver Adaptable and versatile to meet business needs Proficient IT skills UK driving licence

Desirable: FACTS or BASIS certification Cow Signals certification
