Estimating Engineer

Job Description: A Precision engineering company who is going through an exciting expansion is looking for an Estimating Engineer to join their manufacturing facility in the West Midlands. Working with Aerospace, Automotive & Oil & Gas industries, this opportunity offers development and progression.
Responsibilities:
Ensure customer requirements are fully understood and the most cost-effective solution is captured and quoted. Compilation of estimates for new business. Assist in the development of best estimation practices. Following the company’s NPI process, ensure all RFQs are dealt with in the customer's stipulated timeframe. Maintain quote and planning data by customer on the company’s I.T. system. Assist with post-contract review to ensure new jobs have achieved the estimated added value and help identify improvement methods to increase efficiencies. Liaise with the engineering and production team where costs have exceeded estimates and liaise with cross-functional team to identify root causes.
Key Accountabilities: Estimating CNC machined parts, ensuring quotes are produced in a timely manner. Ownership and development of the RFQ requester. Tooling selection and material procurement. Producing detailed documentation, set up packs, SOPs, etc. Review and assessment of customer specifications ensuring all requirements are captured at quotation stage.
