We are seeking an
Experienced Estimator
to join an established team in Cambridge on a permanent basis. If you have a strong background in construction estimating and are passionate about delivering successful projects, we want to hear from you.
You will play a key role in producing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of projects, from initial concept to detailed stage 3 plans.
Main Duties:
Preparing detailed cost estimates using various methods, including first principles and taking-off from drawings. Leading the tender enquiry process and managing subcontractor quotations. Identifying and mitigating potential risks and cost overruns. Contributing to the development and improvement of estimating processes. Supporting project management teams throughout the project lifecycle.
The Successful Candidate:
Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry, ideally with experience working for a Main Contractor. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and costs. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., WinQS, CostX, Asite). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proactive, results-oriented, and a strong team player.
