Overview of Role
The person will join the Power and Gas Desk, and will learn and gain insights about trading operations and processes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a keen interest in the commodity trading industry and will allow him/her to gain more insight into how a trading business is built and maintained. Alongside the desk traders and analysts, the successful candidate will be involved in developing a robust codebase and pipelines to ensure Front Office have all necessary resources at their disposal.
Main Responsibilities Maintain the python codebase for quantitative models and reporting; Implement ETL pipelines for new data sources; Collaborate with traders and analysts to implement new models and reports; Assist the analysts in maintaining front end visualizations and optimize where necessary; Develop and enhance the existing analytical tools and databases; Maintain the CI/CD pipelines code build, test and deployment; Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by manager. Profile The individual should have the following experience: Degree in computer science or related discipline; 3-5 years of coding expertise with a mandatory 2+ years of experience in Python; Experience in a real-time trading environment managing both short and long term deliverables; Experience working with and maintaining databases (SQL Server or Snowflake preferred); Good knowledge of data structures; Self-driven with the capability to excel both independently and as part of a team.
