As an Evening Controller, you will play a vital role in supporting the operations by receiving and redistributing freight from our Coventry depot. You will be controlling drivers throughout the shift ensuring both briefs and de-briefs are completed. Making both planned and ad hoc arrangements as well as communicating with the wider business on the current service/plan/deliveries/collections. Key Responsibilities Ensure KPIs and service levels are consistently achieved by planning daily workloads and utilising drivers and routes available. Loading and unloading delivery vehicles ensuring correct documentation is in place. Ability to follow and instruct others in standard operating procedures and work in a methodical, logical manner, ensuring compliance with contractual targets. Ability to work at pace and understand written English (numbers and words). Supporting the Receipt, Movement & Sortation of freight. Using the TMS system as appropriate, includes but not limited to optimising routes, making changes where needed and ensuring all freight is loaded correctly and POD’d at the end of the shift. Making alternative arrangements for any ad hoc or special work (CX/Own Resource/Subcontractors). Working to site safety, health, environmental, security and quality procedures and associated policies, ensuring work is completed safely in line with organisations risk assessments and safety management system. Ensuring all transacting activity is in line with Carousel procedures. This includes using digital devices, systems, and business processes. Capturing of variation and escalating as required in line with company process. Ensure housekeeping is carried out on site. Capturing commercial information and recording to enable accurate cost management. Supporting Client services with any queries and promoting a thorough and accurate de-brief to be completed enabling better client visibility and service. Skills and Qualifications Clear communication skills with focus and attention to detail. Capability to problem solve in a pressurised environment. Computer Literate (Excel, Word, Power Point). Previous experience in a fast-paced logistics environment. Experience using Excel. Experience reading KPIs and understanding how the operation affects them. Basic details & Benefits of the role A basic salary of up to £30,000 per annum depending on experience. 45 hours per week worked 14:00hrs – 23:00hrs. Some flexibility on working days during quiet seasons

High Season: Wednesday – Sunday. Low Season: Tuesday – Saturday (can be flexible and discussed).
