Events Manager Job - East Anglia Do you work in events but want to be more involved in the planning? Perhaps you are an Events Manager looking to move into a more corporate environment? Are you wanting to be involved in the creation of events from concept to execution? If any of this rings true, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Events Manager to work in a fast-paced environment and assist with the planning and implementation of the corporate event calendar. You will be responsible for the complete life cycle of both internal and external events. The company was founded over 80 years ago and originally started as a small office based in Hertfordshire. Fast forward to today, they now have multiple locations across East Anglia and are continuing to grow at a rapid pace. The post holder will be tasked with the creation of events which will include dinners, conferences, and meetings of various sizes, from planning, coordinating, and management of the event on the day. Regarding the planning, you must be able to source, inspect, and decide on venues that align with the requirements of the event plan and are within budget. Other aspects you will be involved with include organizing catering for said events, renting suitable equipment, booking speakers, and ensuring the environment is comfortable yet appealing for attendees. If the event requires people to travel from further afield, arrangement of travel and accommodation for attendees might also be required. Additional duties: Manage attendees, invitations, RSVPs, and any reasonable adjustments. Carry out risk assessments and ensure Health and Safety requirements are met. Manage and report on budgets and costings. Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers. Liaise with the Marketing team to provide the best exposure for the event. Attend events personally to oversee all aspects and ensure a smooth running on the day. This is an exciting opportunity to have hands-on involvement with the company’s events. The client is looking for someone who has come from a professional services environment and has significant experience in organizing large corporate events. Line management experience is also essential, as well as experience in working to budgets and tracking costings. The company is hyper-flexible regarding where you work, so you won't be bound to any mandate regarding specific days in the office.
