Events Manager - Eastbourne, East Sussex

The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne is recruiting for an Events Manager to join their team on a part-time or on a variable basis.

Overview of the role:

The role of Events Manager is a key management role within the hotel.

The Events Manager ensures the smooth running of events through good planning and time management.  The Grand has a range of 17 meetings and events rooms to cater for events from one to 200. The Events Manager will control and manage the operation of the department to ensure the smooth and efficient organisation of meetings and events including weddings, private dinners, seminars and parties. Working alongside the Conference and Banqueting Manager you will ensure that function rooms are correctly serviced and set up ready to provide a five star service.

The role may include working weekends, evenings and bank holidays, so flexibility is required.

What we need from you:

  • Previous operational experience in a similar role in a hotel
  • A hands-on approach and proven ability to work under pressure dealing with guest issues
  • The ability to make sensible decisions in fast paced environment
  • Guest focused with a real desire to create memorable five star experience for every guest
  • An excellent standard of both written and verbal English
