Events Promotion Manager

to play a pivotal role in delivering the Council's Plan for Thurrock and achieving key income targets. This exciting role will focus on coordinating and securing a diverse range of events in parks, open spaces, and other locations, working collaboratively with community groups, charities, and commercial partners. Key Responsibilities: Act as Thurrock Council's representative in working with commissioned providers to deliver a seasonal schedule of events. Coordinate the application process for community, charity, and commercial events, ensuring compliance with the Council's Outdoor Events Application Process. Oversee the governance framework to ensure events are delivered safely and meet regulatory requirements. Manage the administration, financial data, performance monitoring, and governance processes for all events in Thurrock's parks. Work closely with

and partners, providing guidance and support for a successful events programme. Develop strong working relationships with applicants, including managing high-impact large-scale events. Expand and diversify the events programme, ensuring it meets quality, accessibility, and community impact standards. Ensure effective communication and adherence to strict deadlines in all aspects of event planning and delivery. About You: The ideal candidate will bring creativity, organisational expertise, and a collaborative approach to event management. You will have: Proven experience in planning, managing, and delivering events of varying scales. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work with a range of stakeholders. Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines. A solid understanding of governance and safety requirements for outdoor events. A proactive mindset to expand and diversify event programmes. The ability to work collaboratively within a team and with external partners. About the Service: This role sits within the Sports and Leisure Service, which manages Thurrock's parks and open spaces, sport and physical activity initiatives, playgrounds, trees and woodland management, country parks, and cemeteries. The Events Promotion Manager will report directly to the Sports & Recreation Manager and contribute to a thriving, dynamic service for the borough. Why Join Us?
