Job Title - Billing Lead


The Company

A well-established professional staffing firm based in Canterbury recruiting nationwide in their specialist industry.

The division you would join is an existing and well performing business area that is made up of two smaller teams with team leaders.


The Role

This role works alongside operations, senior leadership team and the existing team leaders to work as a Billing Lead. You will be a recruiter working at an executive level and will be a figurehead for billing in the team. You will be in charge of the billing philosophy and success in the team. You will be championing processes and strategies that allow for more billing, focusing on principals that will help the whole team to bill more. You will be doing a mixture of advice, guidance, research, data and reporting, coaching, training and leading by example. Your mindset will be, how can I use all my knowledge and skills and everything I know about how the company operate to implement further success. How can I cascade this down to the team? How can I help the existing structure get more out of what they have. I will be consulting, I will be giving ideas, and input and working with all stakeholders on any assigned projects as a result of my suggestions. I will be leading change by provoking change in and via others. I will be leading by example.

To have the natural gravitas to do this role and to influence senior consultants and team leaders you will have considerable recruitment experience and be very hands on in your current billing. This would suit a billing manager who is keen to have less direct reports and to work more at an operational level to drive change. You will be a naturally open and supportive character, and the team will feel that you are there to help at all levels rather than to take away their own leadership responsibilities.


The Selling Points

  • £50K to £65K basic plus OTE and Bonus (Bonus scheme will be discussed and designed with the potential incumbent)
  • Finish Fridays at 2pm
  • 2 days in the office, 3 from home
  • Individual monthly commission scheme with no threshold paying up to 40%
  • Huge amounts of existing business


The Requirements

  • You will likely have 7 years plus recruitment experience
  • You will have perm recruitment experience in a professional market
  • You will likely be a billing manager who wants to manage less team members and work on more operational business change and improvements alongside the rest of management team. You will maintain billing here with a 50k per quarter target.
  • You will not be a lone wolf or someone who runs with ideas before discussing them with the SLT
  • You will be a good mix of a process person and a salesperson
  • It is essential that you have managed recruiters before
  • It is essential that you have carried out mentoring, coaching and training of recruitment staff previously
  • You must want to lead by example and have a genuine passion still for recruitment, clients and the processes that make money which you can pass on to others.
  • You will be able to work in Canterbury two days a week.
  • Good billing and success track record
  • You could be a Principal Consultant, Executive Consultant, Branch Manager, Regional Manager, Recruitment Manager, Recruitment Team Leader, Associate Director or Director. You will need to have worked in an Agency rather than internal recruitment background and you will need to have been a 360 consultant and managed 360 sales consultants.
