The Role: Trend Research - Interpreting trends, translating them into commercial designs that resonate with our diverse customer profiles. Creating detailed CADs and technical specifications for Far East and UK factories. Liaising with customers and overseas factories daily. Photographing and recording of samples. Coordinating and preparing samples to be sent out to customers. Preparing trend presentation boards and seasonal research. Managing own workload and prioritising projects as required. Fabric and trim sourcing. Respond promptly to customer enquiries. Communicate and coordinate with relevant internal departments. Dealing with factories with quick response decision making. Be able to produce high quality work to targets and tight deadlines. Other administrative tasks required by the designers. The Candidate: Qualification and experience ideally within Accessories design. Strong technical knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator with excellent CAD skills. Market and industry knowledge – creative and innovative with an interest in retail, consumer and product trends. Organisational skills – highly organised, must be able to proactively manage a wide range of priorities and responsibilities throughout the development process. The ability to work in a fast paced environment and are comfortable adapting to unforeseen change. Passion for product - Possess a true passion for fashion being trend aware with a strong eye for design. The originality and efficiency to thrive within a close-knit team of creative thinkers with a collaborative approach and ability to engage effectively at all levels. Willingness to flex workload to support the wider team. Self-starter with a pro-active approach to work and the ability to work independently. Strong presentation skills - be able to present trends back to customers and internal stakeholders. Attention to detail and accuracy. Problem solving and adaptability. Right to work in UK essential. Qualifications A minimum of 2 years’ industry experience in a similar field. Relevant qualification within accessories/footwear design. Strong technical knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and other associated Adobe software. Hold full driving licence, access to a vehicle and live within easily commutable distance of Uppingham.
