Evident is a global leader in the certification of International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-RECs) and certifies other sustainable activities worldwide. We are looking for an experienced copywriter to join our dynamic team and help elevate our content and brand presence across digital and offline channels.
The Role
As an experienced copywriter, you will be responsible for developing high-quality, engaging, and strategically aligned content that promotes Evident’s mission and enhances our reputation as a leader in the certification of sustainable activities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create content for various channels, aligning with our brand strategy and supporting key business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation
- Maintain a consistent tone and voice across all published content to align with brand messaging.
- Create and manage an effective content calendar that aligns with the brand strategy and ongoing communication campaigns.
- Review and re-write complex, technical materials to make them accessible and engaging for a wider audience.
- Craft compelling narratives to be used across digital channels, effectively showcasing our products and services.
- Produce website content, and social media posts that are informative, engaging, and attract new followers while maintaining current audience engagement.
- Create unique content tailored to different digital platforms, ensuring resonance with audience behaviour and platform nuances.
- Collaborate closely with other teams across the business to understand their content needs, developing creative ideas that support business objectives.
Market Insight
- Research and evaluate the latest trends in digital media to ensure best practices are followed, enhancing the company's online presence and engagement.
- Analyse digital metrics, translate data into actionable insights, and adjust content strategies to improve performance.
- Build and optimise campaigns through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, and audience identification.
Marketing Campaigns and Branding
- Collaborate with team members in the creation of digital assets such as videos and abstract imagery to enhance content.
- Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and campaign requirements before it is published.
Training and Internal Support
- Provide guidance to colleagues on the effective use of digital platforms, sharing best practices and promoting platform engagement across the business.
Supporting the Insight & Markets Team
- Advise and support colleagues in communications planning, audience targeting, channel selection, and key message development to elevate awareness of our services and products.
- Assist in the development and optimisation of marketing materials within established brand guidelines and budget constraints.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Proven experience in copywriting, ideally within B2B/B2G sectors and/or within the sustainability, environmental, or renewable energy sectors.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex, technical information into accessible and engaging content.
- Proficiency in digital content creation, social media platforms, and content management systems.
- Knowledge of SEO, digital marketing strategies, and best practices for content across multiple channels.
- Excellent research skills to stay updated with the latest digital media trends and practices.
- Ability to analyse and report on digital metrics, using insights to improve content performance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
- Experience managing content calendars and aligning content with business objectives and brand strategies.
- Creative critical thinking skills and a proactive attitude.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
- Significant professional copywriting experience, ideally in a global or sustainability-focused company.
- Proven ability to create content for both online and offline channels, including websites, social media, newsletters, and marketing materials.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with sustainability topics is an advantage.
Package Description
- Salary: £30,000 - 38,000 per annum DOE.
Location: Sheffield (Hybrid – office based with some flexibility to WFH)
- Hours of work: Full time, 35 hours per week across Monday to Friday with a one-hour lunch.
